The operational principles and application differences between the A20VO and A20VLO series hydraulic pumps
The A20VO pump features a variable displacement design using an inclined disc axial piston mechanism. By adjusting the swashplate angle via control valves and variable pistons, it efficiently modulates flow to meet system demands, making it particularly suitable for open circuit systems. It is widely used in multi-circuit construction machinery such as excavators and cranes.
In contrast, the A20VLO pump is also an axial piston pump with a swashplate design but is specifically engineered for closed circuit applications. It supports load-sensing control and integrates a differential lock function, enabling superior responsiveness under high-dynamic-load conditions. This makes it ideal for dual-circuit special vehicles, including mining trucks and military vehicles.
Key distinctions lie in their circuit compatibility: while both series share a nominal pressure of 350 bar (with peak pressures of 400 bar and 420 bar respectively), the A20VO offers a broader displacement range (60–520 mL/rev) suited for versatile machinery, whereas the A20VLO operates within a more focused range (35–45 mL/rev) optimized for precision and synchronization in closed-loop systems.
For high-pressure closed-loop vehicle systems, we recommend the A22VG series. For multi-circuit construction equipment, the A20VO remains the preferred choice.
